Meet Lizzie of Rare Press!
Lizzie is from Minneapolis, MN. About 6 years ago, she was asked to create a poster for a soul dance night (she also collects soul records), and had no idea where to begin. On a whim, she tried block-printing, and has never looked back!
When asked what her favorite part about the process of printmaking is; Lizzie says,
“I love the process of developing an idea and seeing that idea come to life in a short period of time. That first inking after you finish carving a block is such a delight. And as someone who likes to be in control, printmaking is ideal, because it allows me to let go of some of that control and be surprised by the result. The final print is often different than I imagined, but sometime even better or more interesting.”
Lizzie wears the Ultra Thin Stacking rings, Bead Ring, and Pebble Ring night and day.
She also has some of our classic Hoop Earrings! Lizzie says that she lost her first pair on a beach in Portugal, and her boyfriend set her up with two more pairs so she would never be without. Isn’t that the sweetest??
